Muriel Wallace-Scott
Clinic Director . BANT Registered Nutritionist
Functional Medicine Practitioner

I am a Kharrazian Institute Certified Practitioner, Shoemaker Proficiency Partner Diplomate, AIP Certified Health Coach as well as a SIBO Doctor Certified Practitioner.
I specialise in autoimmune disease, mould illness / CIRS, gut health, SIBO, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and unexplained symptoms.
I've faced my share of health challenges throughout life, but things really took a turn in my late 20s. Frustrated with conventional medicine not getting to the root of my symptoms, I made a bold choice—I left my job and dove into studying nutrition.

Over the next four years, I trained at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London, balancing my studies with work, raising two kids, and managing my own chronic health issues. It wasn’t easy, but it was the spark I needed to explore a different path. My younger son’s health struggles pushed me further, leading me to functional medicine, where I found a deeper understanding of how our body’s systems are connected—and more importantly, how to support them.

Along the way I discovered that mould exposure in my home was worsening my condition...
I received a long list of diagnoses: Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, autoimmunity, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, PCOS, IBS, endometriosis, PMDD, and rosacea. While it sounds overwhelming, I’ve come to realise that focusing on the root causes behind the symptoms is what truly matters.

To me, symptoms are like the body's way of waving a little flag saying, “Hey, I need help!” They’re opportunities to listen and make positive changes. Shifting my perspective this way has been life-changing.

Now, at 40, I feel healthier, stronger, and more resilient than I ever thought possible. Sure, I still have the occasional bad day, but they’re much fewer and far more manageable—and, most importantly, I know how to minimise them. I’ve gained a deeper understanding of my health, which gives me a sense of control and empowerment I never had before.

AS A "SPOONIE," REACHING A POINT WHERE I NO LONGER IDENTIFIED AS CHRONICALLY ILL, WAS A HUGE WIN. GOOD HEALTH ISN'T SOMETHING I TAKE FOR GRANTED ANYMORE, AND TO ME, THAT'S WHAT SUCCESS FEELS LIKE
I share my story because I truly believe that, no matter how complex someone’s health situation may be, there’s always hope for improvement. With the right approach and support, change is possible. Functional medicine continues to fascinate and inspire me—it’s a field full of endless possibilities for myself, my family, and my clients.

My passion is helping others on their journeys to better health, and I can't wait to see what's possible for you too.
