Kat's personal health journey

What inspired you to pursue a career in nutritional therapy?

My journey began with my own health struggles—acne as a teenager and later developing guttate psoriasis after a period of chronic stress. When conventional medicine couldn’t provide the answers I needed, I turned to nutrition and lifestyle changes, and that’s when everything shifted. I saw firsthand how powerful food and mindset can be in healing. That realisation led me to retrain, and now I’m passionate about helping others uncover the root causes of their health challenges and find real, lasting solutions.

What do you find most fulfilling about working with clients?

Often, clients come to me with one specific concern, but the changes we make together ripple into so many other areas of their lives. Seeing those unexpected improvements - whether it’s better sleep, balanced energy, or renewed confidence - is incredibly rewarding. Most of all, I love knowing that the work we do isn’t just about short-term fixes but creating lasting, long-term health.

What’s one piece of advice you find yourself giving to clients most often?

Slow down. We live in a culture that glorifies being busy, but so much healing happens when we create space to rest, reflect, and nourish ourselves properly.

What has been the most valuable lesson you’ve learned from managing your own health challenges?

That healing isn’t linear. There’s no ‘perfect’ way to do things, and progress comes from consistency, not perfection. Also, stress plays a bigger role than most people realise - looking after your nervous system is just as important as food and supplements.

What’s one myth about skin health that you wish more people understood?

That skin issues aren't just ‘skin deep.’ The skin is a reflection of emotional wellbeing, as well as internal health. Topical treatments can help, but true healing comes from an overhaul of the mind and body.

What’s the most underrated lifestyle change that can improve skin health?

Prioritising quality sleep. Poor sleep increases inflammation, disrupts gut health, and messes with blood sugar regulation - all of which impact the skin.

Can you share a client success story that was particularly meaningful to you?

One client with long-term psoriasis came to me struggling with anxiety and gut issues. Through targeted nutrition, gut support, stress management, and re-evaluating their relationship with alcohol, they experienced huge improvements - not just in their skin, but in their energy, mood, and overall wellbeing. By the end of our time together, they described the experience as transformational. Seeing that kind of shift in someone's life is exactly why I do this work.

What’s one non-negotiable habit you prioritise for your own wellbeing?

Good sleep! It’s one of the main reasons I avoid alcohol, as it completely disrupts sleep quality. I also make it a non-negotiable to get outside every day. Fresh air, movement, and nature are essential for me - not just physically, but mentally too. Walking gives me the space to clear my mind and organise my thoughts.
